Amid pandemic, the concept of independence is not dead.
The 123 small Philippine flags which were put on display within the premises of Malvar Senior High School were a proof to that.
This means that the independence that was once longed and fought for by our great heroes who even risked their lives remained alive throughout 123 years.
This year, the commemoration of this historic event was made possible by the Supreme Student Government.
They put the small flags on display in every floor of both buildings in the campus so that school personnel and visitors would see and would be reminded of our history.
“Ilang araw bago po ang Araw ng Kalayaan ay maayos po naming naikabit ang watawat ng Pilipinas sa kada floor po ng building ng Malvar Senior High School. Kahit na kami po ay pauli-uli, pababa pataas sa hagdaan ay mabilis po naming natapos iyon.” This was how Mark John Bornilla, SSG President, recalled their efforts in displaying the flags.
