MSHS heightens COVID-19 safety protocols with new PPE

The continuous increase in COVID-19 cases prompts Malvar Senior High School to heighten its safety protocols through mandatory wearing of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during distribution and retrieval of modules and home visitations. PPE are specialized clothing or equipment used to prevent contact with hazardous substances. They are essential in infection control and prevention measures. PPE such as gowns, gloves, mask and eye protection provide physical barrier to prevent the hands, skin, clothing, eyes, nose, and mouth from coming into contact with infectious agents. They reduce the transmission of communicable diseases when other measures such as engineering controls and work practices cannot completely eliminate exposure (www.dhs.wisconsin.gov)

"It is better to be safe than sorry," Dr. Jhomar Sor, Principal II of MSHS emphasized the need to use PPE among teaching and non-teaching personnel during the morning assembly.

This initiative, which began on May 14, is considered integral in the perfomance of school personnel's duties since they are commonly exposed when they do face-to-face transactions with stakeholders. This is the reason for the distribution and implementation of wearing PPE to MSHS personnel.
