The municipal council of Malvar creates a resolution congratulating and commending Malvar Senior High School - Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) students batch 2019-2020 for winning in the Cebu International Film Festival (Cebu IFF) for their film "Persday" under the student short film category on January 7, 2021.
The resolution was awarded last March 11, 2021 at the Malvar Legislative Hall. Present in the event were representatives from Malvar Senior High School: Dr. Jhomar C. Sor (School Principal), Ms. Imelda G. Silva (Head of STEM Strand), Mr. Perry Taborda (Program Coordinator), Mr. Ian Karlo Perilla (Moderator, Digital Media Club of Malvar SHS), Engr. Andrade Martirez (Web Administrator), and Mr. Mark Angelo Roma (Short Film Director, Persday) together with Malvar Municipal Council members.
This resolution was motioned by Hon. Atty. Ralph Julius Leo S. Morcilla and jointly seconded by Hon. Voltaire S. Kalaw and Hon. Mary Carla Christine R. Sia. This was attested by the members of Malvar Municipal Council: Hon. Matt Louie M. Aranda (Vice Mayor and Presiding Officer), Hon. Leandro E. Bantug Jr., Hon. Willie Condrado M. Tagle, Hon. Edgardo V. Licarte, Hon. Federico P. Basilan, Hon. Apollo L. Endaya, Hon. Deogracias V. Macalintal, Hon. Gissel T. Malabanan and Hon. Mayor Cristeta Cuevas Reyes.
This is an initiative of the Sangguniang Bayan to recognize and pay tribute to exemplary and outstanding performance of Malvarenos bringing pride to the municipality by winning local and international competitions. They believe that such achievement has given another pride and honor and served as an example and inspiration to other young people in the municipality that they can emulate to excel in their chosen fields of endeavor.
